Royal Danish Air Force to Debut at Farnborough International Airshow
The Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) is set to make a remarkable debut at this year’s Farnborough International Airshow, featuring its F-16 Fighting Falcon in the newly unveiled Dannebrog livery in the flying and static display. This appearance marks a significant milestone for the RDAF, showcasing its advanced capabilities on an international stage.
The new F-16 Dannebrog, tail number E-006, has been selected to replace the E-191, which has been repainted in military grey and is now destined to support operations in Ukraine. The E-006 continues the proud Dannebrog tradition with a refreshed livery that not only features the Danish flag but also commemorates the 50th anniversary of the F-16 aircraft type’s first flight in 1974. While the E-006 will be a prominent figure at global events, it will also be heavily utilized in training missions and operational tasks.
Captain Troels K. Dehli Vang shared his excitement about the RDAF’s first-time participation in the Farnborough International Airshow: “We are incredibly excited to be flying and attending the Farnborough International Airshow for the first time. To be able to fly our flag with our new Dannebrog in the UK at the most international airshow in the world is a proud moment for the Royal Danish Air Force.”
The Farnborough International Airshow, scheduled from July 22 to 26, 2024, is a trailblazing event that will bring together global aerospace and defence leaders in Hampshire, United Kingdom. Over the course of five days, attendees will have unparalleled opportunities to explore the latest advancements in technology and engineering, announce historic partnerships, and collectively work towards a sustainable aerospace future.
The RDAF’s F-16 Dannebrog will be on display every day of the airshow, providing attendees with the opportunity to witness the aircraft’s impressive capabilities and striking new livery up close. This debut not only highlights the RDAF’s commitment to innovation and excellence but also underscores Denmark’s contributions to the global aerospace and defence sectors.
As the Farnborough International Airshow continues to be a cornerstone of aerospace innovation, the participation of the Royal Danish Air Force with its new F-16 Dannebrog is a testament to the enduring legacy and forward-looking vision of both the RDAF and the broader aerospace community.
