The International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight Announces Full Line-Up

Ayr, Scotland – The Scottish International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight, a new and highly anticipated event on the European airshow circuit, has officially revealed its full line-up. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of South Ayrshire’s picturesque coastline, the festival promises a captivating weekend filled with a diverse range of aerial and ground displays.

The Festival Village will be the epicentre of ground activities, offering a plethora of family-friendly attractions. Visitors can immerse themselves in the excitement of a Rafale fighter jet simulator, participate in high-energy laser tag, and enjoy a traditional fun fair. The STEM marquee will provide educational exhibits, while the military village offers an in-depth look into the armed forces. Additionally, the festival will feature food and drink stalls, aviation-themed crafts, and displays of model and classic vehicles. The Festival Village and ground attractions will be open from 4pm to 8:30 pm on Friday and from 12 noon to 6 pm on Saturday.

The air displays, the highlight of the festival, will take place from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Friday, 6 September, and from 1:30 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, 7 September. The line-up includes an impressive array of performances that are sure to captivate audiences.

Friday, 6 September:

• 6:30pm: RAF Falcons – The renowned RAF Falcons will kick off the evening with a spectacular display of precision and daring aerobatics.
• 6:45pm: Jet Pitts – The Jet Pitts will showcase its agility and power with a series of breathtaking maneuvers.
• 6:55pm: Vampire – The classic de Havilland Vampire jet will take to the skies, highlighting its historic significance.
• 7:05pm: Royal Navy Blackcats – The Royal Navy’s helicopter display team will demonstrate their exceptional flying skills.
• 7:15pm: Wingwalkers – Prepare to be amazed as daring wingwalkers perform stunts atop biplanes.
• 7:30pm: Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster – A poignant tribute to the heroes of the Battle of Britain with the historic Lancaster bomber.
• 7:55pm: RAF Typhoon – Experience the sheer power and speed of the RAF’s cutting-edge Typhoon fighter jet.
• 8:10pm: Airborne Pyrotechnics – The evening will conclude with a dazzling display of airborne pyrotechnics, lighting up the night sky.

Saturday, 7 September:

• 1:30pm: RAF Falcons – The Falcons return to kick off a jam-packed day of aerial displays.
1:45pm: Navy Wings Special Flypast – A unique flypast by Navy Wings.
• 1:55pm: Navy Wings Wasp – The Navy Wings Wasp will showcase its versatility and history.
• 2:05pm: Navy Wings Reliant – Another historic aircraft from Navy Wings’ collection.
• 2:15pm: Navy Wings Seafire – The Seafire, a naval variant of the Spitfire, will grace the skies.
2:25pm: Navy Wings Harvard – A classic trainer aircraft will demonstrate its capabilities.
• 2:40pm: Jet Pitts – Another chance to see the high-energy performance of the Jet Pitts.
• 2:55pm: Vampire – The de Havilland Vampire returns for another thrilling display.
• 3:10pm: Royal Canadian Air Force CC-130J Flypast – A special flypast by the Royal Canadian Air Force.
3:20pm: Newcastle Jet Provost – The Jet Provost will showcase its training prowess.
• 3:40pm: Starlings Two Ship Extra NG – A mesmerizing display by the Starlings.
3:55pm: Gazelle Squadron Four Ship Gazelle Helicopter Display – The Gazelle Squadron will perform an intricate helicopter display.
• 4:15pm: Wee DRAM Reims Cessna FR172F – A unique performance featuring a Cessna equipped with floats and retractable landing gear units.
• 4:30pm: Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster – Another opportunity to witness the historic tribute.
• 4:50pm: Wingwalkers – The Wingwalkers return for more aerial stunts.
• 5:10pm: Airborne Pyrotechnics – A daytime display of airborne pyrotechnics.
• 5:20pm: Gnat Pair – A pair of Folland Gnats will perform a synchronized display.
• 5:35pm: Royal Navy Black Cats – The Black Cats return for a second performance.
• 5:50pm: Typhoon – The event will conclude with a powerful display by the RAF Typhoon.
