Spanish Air & Space Force Typhoon to Display at Radom Airshow 2025
Aviation enthusiasts around the world are gearing up for an extraordinary spectacle as the Spanish Air & Space Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon is set to take center stage at the Radom Airshow 2025. This highly anticipated event, held in Radom, Poland, is one of Europe’s largest and most prestigious airshows, drawing crowds eager to witness the latest in military aviation technology alongside vintage aircraft. The inclusion of the Spanish Typhoon promises to be a highlight, showcasing one of the most advanced multirole fighter jets in the world.
The Eurofighter Typhoon, a twin-engine, canard-delta wing aircraft, is the product of a multinational collaboration that began in the 1980s among the UK, Germany, Italy, and Spain. Originally designed as an air superiority fighter, the Typhoon has evolved into a versatile platform capable of both air-to-air and air-to-ground missions. Its agility, advanced avionics, and powerful engines make it a formidable asset in modern aerial combat. The aircraft’s development was marked by significant milestones, including its first flight in 1994 and its combat debut over Libya in 2011. Today, the Typhoon continues to be upgraded, with recent enhancements including the potential for a new radar system and a touchscreen cockpit, ensuring it remains at the forefront of military aviation.

For Spain, the Typhoon—known locally as the C.16 Tifón—plays a crucial role in its air defense strategy. Operated by Ala 14, the Spanish Air & Space Force has been a key partner in the Eurofighter program since its inception. Spain’s fleet of Typhoons has undergone upgrades to incorporate features from more advanced tranches, and the nation has recently placed orders for additional Tranche 4 standard aircraft. These new jets are set to replace the aging EF-18 Hornets, particularly those stationed at Ala 46 in the Canary Islands, ensuring Spain’s air force remains equipped with cutting-edge technology.
The Radom Airshow, renowned for its diverse array of aircraft and thrilling displays, provides the perfect backdrop for the Spanish Typhoon’s appearance. Held at Warsaw-Radom Airport, the event attracts aviation enthusiasts from across the globe, offering a unique opportunity to see both modern military jets and historic aircraft up close. The 2025 edition promises to be no exception, with an impressive lineup of confirmed participants from various air forces, each bringing their own flair to the skies and static displays.
Among the confirmed aircraft, the Czech Air Force will showcase its SAAB JAS-39C Gripen from the 211th Tactical Squadron and the PZL-Swidnik W-3A Sokol from the 243rd Helicopter Squadron, both set to perform in the flying display. Finland’s contribution includes a McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet from HävLLv 11, also taking to the air for a dynamic demonstration. The German Air Force will make a strong presence with the Eurofighter Typhoon from Tactical Air Force Wing 74 and the Airbus A400M Atlas from Air Transport Wing 62, both appearing in both flying and static displays. Additionally, a Sikorsky CH-53G Sea Stallion from Helicopter Wing 64 will be on static display, offering a glimpse into Germany’s heavy-lift capabilities.
Hungary’s Airbus H145M from the 86th Helicopter Wing will feature in both flying and static displays, while the host nation, Poland, will present six PZL 130 Orliks from the Aerobatic Team Orlik in a precision flying display. The Spanish Air and Space Force’s Eurofighter C.16 Tifón from Ala 14 will, of course, be a focal point with its own flying display, demonstrating the aircraft’s agility and power. Rounding out the lineup, the UK’s Royal Air Force will bring nine BAE Hawk T1s, flown by the world-famous Red Arrows, for a breathtaking aerobatic performance.
The Radom Airshow 2025 is shaping up to be an unmissable event for aviation enthusiasts, offering a rare chance to see such a diverse collection of aircraft in action. From the cutting-edge technology of the Eurofighter Typhoon to the precision flying of aerobatic teams, the show promises to deliver excitement and awe in equal measure. As the Spanish Typhoon prepares to roar through the skies, it will not only represent the pinnacle of European aerospace engineering but also serve as a reminder of the collaborative spirit that continues to drive innovation in military aviation.
