Bray Air Display 2024: An Exciting Line-Up Announced
The highly anticipated Bray Air Display 2024 is set to take flight on Saturday, August 3rd, promising a day filled with aerial excitement and breathtaking performances. This year’s line-up features a diverse array of acts, combining the best of modern aerobatics with vintage aircraft displays, ensuring an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Headlining the event are the AeroSuperBatics Wingwalkers, renowned for their unique formation wingwalking displays. Flying two Boeing Stearman biplanes, these daring performers will captivate the audience with their gravity-defying stunts and synchronized aerial manoeuvres.
Eddie Goggins, famously known as The Flying Dentist, will take to the skies in his CAP 232, delivering a jaw-dropping aerobatic performance that showcases his exceptional skill and precision. His display is expected to push the boundaries of what is possible in aerobatic flight, leaving spectators in awe.
The Irish Air Corps will also be a highlight of the show, although the specific aircraft they will bring is unkown. Attendees can look forward to witnessing both fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft in action, as well as a performance by the Silver Swallows aerobatic display team flying four Pilatus PC-9M aircraft.
Returning this year is the Irish Historic Flight Foundation, featuring Chipmunks and Stearman aircraft. Joining them from the UK are vintage aircraft including the North American P-51D Mustang ‘Miss Helen’, the T6 Harvard, and the iconic Supermarine Spitfire XI PL983. These historic aircraft will offer a nostalgic glimpse into aviation’s storied past, delighting both young and old.
Richard Goodwin will electrify the audience with his Jet Pitts, an aerobatic aircraft uniquely equipped with two jet engines. His performance promises a thrilling blend of speed, agility, and raw power, making it one of the standout acts of the show.
Regulars at the Bray Air Display, the Royal Jordanian Falcons, will return with their four Extra 330LX aerobatic aircraft. Known for their precision and elegance, the Falcons’ display is a masterclass in formation flying and aerobatic excellence.
The Irish Coast Guard will perform a Search and Rescue display, paying tribute to the brave men and women who safeguard Irish lives. This year’s display may mark the final appearance of the Sikorsky S-92 before the transition to the new Leonardo AW189, adding a poignant note to the performance.
Sean Bennett will perform flypasts in his Stearman, celebrating the enduring legacy of classic aviation. Bennett’s display will evoke the golden age of flight, delighting spectators with the timeless charm of his aircraft.
Rounding off the line-up, Team Raven will wow the crowds with their formation aerobatic display. Flying six home-built Vans RV8 aircraft, Team Raven’s performance promises to be a thrilling spectacle of coordination, precision, and aerial artistry.
