UKRAINE INDEPENDENCE DAY FLYPAST

A total of 60 Ukrainian and NATO aircraft will fly over Khreshchatyk street in Kyiv during a military parade on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.

The air parade will start at 11:00 am local time.

The plan of the flypast was published on Instagram by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

Aircraft from the Ukrainian Air Force, Ukrainian Navy, National Guard of Ukraine, National Police of Ukraine, State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, The State Emergency Service of Ukraine, Antonov, Slovak Air Force, Polish Air Force and the Royal Air Force will take part in the flypast.

Leading the flypast will be the Mi-8 helicopters of the 12th Army Aviation Brigade followed by a group of Mi-24 helicopters of the 16th Separate Brigade of Army Aviation "Brody", and a subdivision of the Mi-14 naval base helicopters of the 10th Naval Aviation Brigade will take to the air.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is also going to unveil its newest helicopters the Airbus H-145 and the H225, recently purchased from France.

Next will be the two Diamond DA42 Twin Star aircraft of the State Border Guard.

Following the State Border Guard will be a formation of modernized An-26 military transport aircraft. Those aircraft have been equipped with modern aviation equipment that allows them to fly in accordance with international standards. The An-26 "VITA" ambulance of the transport aviation brigade, An-32 firefighting aircraft of the State Emergency Service and the An-72 military transport aircraft of the National Guard of Ukraine will also be displayed.

Ilyushin Il-76MD multi-purpose four-engine turbofan strategic airlifter of the Ukrainian Air Force will also take part in the flypast joined by two Su-27 fighters, one on each side.

Tactical combat aviation will also be represented by formations of four Sukhoi Su-25 close air support aircraft from the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade, four Sukhoi Su-24 front-line bombers from the 7th Tactical Aviation Brigade and four multi-role high-manoeuvrability Sukhoi Su-27 fighters from the 39th tactical aviation brigade.

The new-generation An-70 military transport aircraft will also fly over the central street of the Ukrainian capital joined up by the world's heaviest aircraft ever built, the An-225 Mriya.

The Ukrainian part of the air parade will be concluded with a flypast by four Mig-29 fighter jets of the Ukrainian Air Force painting the sky with blue and gold, the colours of Ukraine’s national banner.
